I've noticed myself mentally growing up, all bit at a time, but then I look back at things I've never noticed before. Some things have taken me longer to realize than it would take others. Some of the things are:
-my family
-my friends
-my sexuality
-school
-work
->Some of these things may be taken for granted, some kids in a early grade may realize, "oh yeah, school is very important" and pay attention to the lessons and get the homework done. I never really understood the importance and slacked. School was a place for me to hang out with my friends and have fun. If I passed the classes it was on pure luck, not because I worked on it. Now I see the importance.
->My family is a bigger problem though. I feel attached to a most of my family, I really only dislike and tolerate a few. At my dads house the people there have always just seemed like background noise, things to keep me distracted from being completely alone. However, now it seems like I'm waking up and finding that they are more than noise, Jen has opened up to me and we get along pretty well now. Em is a bit tougher to handle, not that she has a form of epilepsy and is in middle school. My stepmom has always had a memory issue, repeating herself and forgetting things, but it seems to be worse. >>;
->Sexuality-wise, I have always been uninterested in relationships. I did date a few guys, but never as seriously as they would have liked. The last one, Nick, was an ass, always trying to get a kiss from me when I didn't want to kiss. Plus, I was always uncomfortable with each guy, I didn't like hugs from them, to close to their reproductive parts. >>; But now, I'm thinking more on relationships, still not quite there though.
-> Work. D: Always a tough case. I hate having to spend most of my day in a grocery store, dealing with more customers in a hour than my stepmom does in a day. (old arguement with her)But it's necessary, I love being able to go to cons, and drive and buy anything I want or need. So more hours are good. A necessary evil to me.
-> It only took 22 years for me to start growing up.
